How to play

Create or join a game

Start a new game with your friends. If you are creating a game, you can configure settings, such as game language, custom words, or how long rounds last. Each round, by default every 24 hours, everyone gets a word assigned. Be sure to keep your word secret, as this is the word you will need others to say, to eliminate them. When a new round starts, your previous word is no longer of importance, so feel free to tell other players what your word was, if they don't already know. Once the game has started, there are 2 ways to earn points.

Eliminating an opponent

Eliminating an opponent earns you 3 points. You eliminate someone, when you hear that person say your assigned word. If you eliminate someone, you have to announce this by saying "gotcha" to that person. After which you can mark your elimination in the app. Opponents do not necessarily need to be made to say your word. If they say it on their own accord, it still counts as an elimination. In addition to this, the following rules apply:

  • Homephones count, e.g. "to" counts if your word is "two".
  • Plurals count, e.g. "cars" counts if your word is "car".
  • You are allowed to say your own word and lie about what your word is, however, you may not lie about eliminating someone.

Guessing your opponents word

You are also able to guess your opponents' words, which can earn you a single point. However, be carefull, you only get 1 chance per opponent, per round and if you guess incorrect you lose a point. You may NOT guess an opponent's current word after they have called "gotcha". You are able to make a guess by holding down on one of your opponents in the leaderboard tab.

Winning the game

The game game ends when a player reaches the point goal, or if the admin chooses to end the game, when playing in unlimited mode. The winner of the game is the player that has the most points at the end of the game.
