How to play

Create or join a game

Start a new game with your friends. If you are creating a game, you can configure settings, such as game language, custom tasks, or how long rounds last. Each round, by default every 24 hours, everyone gets a task assigned. Be sure to keep your task secret, as this is the task you will need others to do, to eliminate them. When a new round starts, your previous task is no longer of importance, so feel free to tell other players what your task was, if they don't already know. Once the game has started, there are 2 ways to earn points.

Eliminating an opponent

Eliminating an opponent earns you 3 points. You eliminate someone, when that person does your assigned task. If you eliminate someone, you have to announce this by saying "gotcha" to that person. After which you can mark your elimination in the app. Opponents do not necessarily need to be made to do your task. If they do it on their own accord, it still counts as an elimination. In addition to this, the following rules apply when it comes to tasks that require someone to say a word:

  • Homephones count, e.g. "to" counts if your word is "two".
  • Plurals count, e.g. "cars" counts if your word is "car".
  • You are allowed to say your own word and lie about what your word is, however, you may not lie about eliminating someone.

Guessing your opponents task

You are also able to guess your opponents' tasks, which can earn you a single point. However, be carefull, you only get 1 chance per opponent, per round and if you guess incorrect you lose a point. You may NOT guess an opponent's current task after they have called "gotcha". Initiate a guess by holding down on one of your opponents in the leaderboard tab.

Jinx to eliminate

When playing with jinx to eliminate turned on, it means everyone has the same task every round, so no need to keep your task hidden. In this mode you eliminate an opponent by doing the task at the same time as someone else and then calling "gotcha". In addition to "gotcha", you may also say the alias "jinx", which also counts. The person who calls out "gotcha" first after simultaneously doing the task eliminates the other person.

Winning the game

The game game ends when a player reaches the point goal, or if the admin chooses to end the game, when playing in unlimited mode. The winner of the game is the player that has the most points at the end of the game.
